ATM Scam in Rickmansworth
An erlderly man has recently been targetted by an atm scam in Rickmansworth High Street. The man was tapped on the shoulder while he was using the external cashpoint at Nationwide and the man behind him pointed to two ten pound notes on the floor. while the elderly man picked these up his bank card was taken from the machine.
The male behind him watched him type in his pin number beforehand and used the card to withdraw money elsewhere.
Residents are reminded to always cover their pin number when using any cash machine to safeguard against this type of scam.
Go into a branch with an internal cash machine if you can, as devices to trap your bank card and cash are sometimes fitted to external atms.
