If you were lucky enough to receive a new mobile, television, sat nav or bike for Christmas, or have bought a new gadget in the January sales, have you registered it for free on http://www.immobilise.com/ yet?
Every year police recover hundreds of valuables that cannot be traced to their rightful owners. However, registering possessions on http://www.immobilise.com/ can help.
It is a free database where people can list their property and then, if the item is lost or stolen, users can log this on the system to help any recovered items be returned to them.
It can also serve as a deterrent to thieves, who won't want to be caught carrying property that is easily identified as not belonging to them by police, and can help police to identify suspects as part of their investigations.
Combined with simple crime prevention, this can help you to keep your valuable possessions secure. For tips on security, please visit http://www.herts.police.uk/advice/crime_prevention.aspx.
