Pub-goers can enjoy a January Sale with a difference at four pubs in the area.
Managers at The Moon Under Water and The Colombia Press, both in High Street, Watford, along with The Pennsylvanian in High Street, Rickmansworth and The William Jolle in Joel Street, Northwood Hills, are each serving a pint of real ale at 1992 prices from Tuesday January 3 until Wednesday January 11 inclusive.
They are serving a pint of Greene King Ruddles Best Bitter for £1.29, as well as a pint of Carlsberg (£1.99), a bottle of Beck’s (£1.29) and a cup of coffee (79p).
According to the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the last time an average price of a pint of beer cost £1.29 was in 1992.
Kwame Tefe, manager of The Moon Under Water, said: “I am sure my customers will welcome the reduction in prices, especially at the start of the year.
“Department stores and shops hold their sales in January and I believe that given the choice of a trip to a sale at the shops or a sale at The Moon Under Water, most people would prefer a visit to the pub.
