Just a quick update to let everyone know.... if you did not already, that Keay Homes have appealed to the Planning Inspectorate on their most recent application for 31 properties to be built on the Long Island site. Despite all rumours, intentional or otherwise, the hotel remains mostly full - 100% of the week.... that includes weekends.
All previous representations both for and against the development, will be available for the planning inspector to view.
The only route left, is to lobby Greene King plc to not sell the hotel, but improve it and give the community the facility that it deserves & needs.
If you would like full details of where to write, you can find this on the www.Savelongisland.blogspot.co.uk
Under the Useful Information and Contacts tab.

Support Sport Relief - in Rickmansworth! 23 March 2014
Sport Relief 2014 the final countdown!
With just two weeks to go hundreds of local people have already signed up to run one, three, or six miles in aid of Sport Relief but there’s still time to bag a place, don the fancy dress and enter the fun and games.
The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile takes place at Rickmansworth Aquadrome on Sunday 23rd March. Enter now at www.sportrelief.com.
Ryan Watson, Event Organiser said: “We are delighted that so many people have already signed up but we want even more to take part! You don’t need to be fit or sporty - you can run, walk or wiggle the mile! It’s all apart having fun and raising some money for a great cause. We’ve previously sold out before the event so book your place now to avoid any disappointment. Don’t forget to rope in your mates, family, boyfriend, girlfriend and colleagues too.”
Entry to the Mile costs £6 for adults, £3 for children (Under 16), or £15 for a family (2 adults and 2 children). The six mile will start at 10:30am, three mile at 11:00am and one mile at 11:15am.
Ryan added: “We are still on the lookout for volunteers on the day so if running isn’t your thing please get in touch. No previous experience is required. All we ask is that you are friendly, willing and able to work as part of a team.”
and... if you cannot make it on the day - here are some other ways that you can support Sport Relief 2014
