Youth Council to welcome Warner Bros, Police Cadets and legal expert
Three Rivers' next Youth Council will feature a talk from Warner Brothers' Anne Lean on how the movie company uses films such as the Harry Potter series to teach English and other skills to young people. Legal expert Amanda Ball will be discussing careers in the law and explaining how and why local authorities use legal knowledge in delivering local services. Members of Three Rivers' Police Cadets will also be joining the session to talk about opportunities available through the group.
This session takes place during Local Democracy Week which encourages the involvement of citizens in decision making throughout Europe.
All young people aged between 11 and 19 at secondary school or above, who live or go to school in the area, are welcome to attend any or all of the three meetings per year. The agenda for each meeting is chosen by the young people themselves at the preceding meeting.
The Youth Council meets on Tuesday 15 October at 5:30pm at Three Rivers House, Northway, Rickmansworth, WD3 1RL. Pizza from 5pm.
Help with transport is available from the District Council.
