Engineers have been on site carrying out some site investigation work to ensure that the locations of all services (gas, water and electricity) on the site are identified. Other preparatory surveys and works will take place over the coming weeks. This work will have no impact on the supply of these utilities to local properties, but is necessary preparation work that needs to be undertaken before dismantling the gasholders.
As there is currently no plan for the future of the site a number of visits are planned, you may therefore note more people coming and going from the site than normal. These visits help National Grid understand options for how the site may one day be regenerated, regular updates will be available as plans progress.
The sale of the site for residential purposes is advertised in last weeks Agents Press – Estates Gazette
